About Me
During my 20+ years in the Social Services field, I’ve had many titles yet my intention was always the same. Helping youths and their families find peace within the home.
Since high school I had the innate ability to help others where people will seek me out to be heard and to support them when they were in a grim situation. I had great hopes and believed that I could be this amazing person helping people of all backgrounds and ages. However, I had the unfortunate truth of this judgemental, high and mighty person as my guidance counsellor who had her own negative views on me, just from one simple glance. She told me on multiple occasions that I couldn’t do it and that I would not be successful. After the second time I brought a future adventure to her that I was joyfully planning for myself, she contorted her face and advised against it and playfully laughed at it. The horrible part was that I believed her and my grades and my already stressful environment at home declined. I stopped going to the guidance office after that. It took me until my last year to smarten up and looked into college programs on my own. I found one that complimented me and decided to become the person I needed when I was growing up that I didn’t have. With a goal set and plan in mind, it took hard work, dedication and focus sacrificing my social life. I saved for my College Program, moved out of my uneasy home surroundings and began my new life. What followed were many titles after I graduated, for example Child and Youth Worker, Behaviour Resource Facilitator, Crisis Support Itinerant and Case Manager, to name a few. These titles were given while working with many youths and their families in various locations such as group homes, hospitals, shelters and youth maximum security jail, which all taught me priceless life lessons.
When covid hit, it sent me on a new discovery journey with myself. I started to look at how I can enhance my work with people while continuing with life changing strategies I was already implementing. I deepened my sense of purpose by becoming a Life and Wellness Coach and opened my own business. Pooling together all my experiences and education, this allowed me to shift focus on the relationships at home with Family Coaching. While coaching the individual members of the family, it also gave me the opportunity to see how to really get to the root of the issue one might be feeling unable to express. With this in mind, I went even further and got certified in mastering the skills of applied intuition tools. With this new responsibility and engagement, between coach and coachee, we are both able to fully capture the true essence of self.
I have had many blessings working everywhere I have worked and with everyone I have ever worked with. I went in there to help and teach others while in return they were the ones teaching me, making me a better person to continue to help others.
I thank you all.
